Whalley is once again planning to participate in the Lower mainland Little League fall ball program.
There is a 9/10 age group and 11/12 age group. ( 2017 league age 9-12) Fee $45.00
Fall ball is a developmental opportunity with less competitive focus.
The season will start Sept 10th and will run until the weather holds or it starts to get dark too early for clinics (usually mid-October). It is structured so players can play another sport in the fall and still participate.
There is usually one clinic on a weeknight and one game on the weekend (Usually Sunday because other sports are usually Saturday). If Coaches are inclined to do so they can add clinics and games as participation warrants.
If you are wanting to get started as a coach- Fall ball is a good time to step up and get involved.
The PBL Chiefs are offering a Fall Ball program for 13-17
Whalley, Fall Ball is open to all players aged 13-17. The dates are Sept.6 through mid October weather permitting. A typical week will be workouts Tuesday through Thursdays at 6pm and games on the weekends.The Jr Chiefs will enter into a Tournament at White Rock in mid September and the Bantam Chiefs are in the Best of the West U15 Tournament in Kamloops Sept 23-5.
All instruction is handled by the Chiefs coaching staff.Costs will be $300.00 and will include a hat and Fall Ball uniform top.This will cover City user costs and umpire costs.

The Whalley Major Allstars are one step closer to their goal of getting to the Little League World Series. – TEAM BC will compete at the Canadian Nationals in Vancouver Aug 4th -13th.
Luckily for us fans the Nationals are taking place at Hastings Little League!
Let’s show our team some Whalley support, Come out to the games and cheer our boys on!
First game is Thursday August 4th, 3:00pm vs the Prairies.

BULLPEN SUMMER BASEBALL CAMP
The Bullpen Baseball School will be hosting TWO three-day Summer Camp in coordination with Whalley L.L. baseball.
Age : 9 – 13
Date : July 26 – 28 / August 16 – 18
Time : 9:00 – 12:00 noon
Place : Whalley L.L. field
Cost : $130.00 (3-day camp)
This Camp will be an excellent opportunity for all players to extend their season and to enjoy some extra time on the ball field learning the finer points of the game from two / three very qualified bullpen instructors. Each three-hour camp will be held to a maximum of only 25 students as well.
Hitting; make more consistent contact, and also hit for more power
Situational Plays; rundowns, cut-offs, relays&why they are so important..age specific
Pitching / Throwing; proper mechanics for better control, and how to throw for more velocity. Learning to throw correctly at an early age is crucial to player development, and cuts down on the risk of arm injuries in later years.
Many Different Drills; to practice what is being shown.
Base Running; learn how to round the bags in the most efficient manner. Plus, lead-offs, and stealing..age specific
Fielding; proper form regarding the fielding of g/b & f/b
There would be a game played between the participants on the last two days, for 30 minutes.

Reminder that this weekend is Bat-A-Thon collection time!
You still have a few days to get some pledges and entries for the cash prizes. Sponsorship for a sign on the Major Diamond will also get you credit equivalent of $400 towards your team’s total!
All Bat-A-Thon cards and $$ must be returned to your Team Mom or Manager (even cards without pledges). Teams, please return your team’s cards to your Player Agent on or before May 29th. Cards returned after this date will not be eligible for prizes.
Remember players get one entry into the draw for every $20 collected.
